                                     THE HIDDEN JEWEL HISTORY

    As Citizens of the world, many great histories should not be hidden from us.  Today, i want to introduce to you a country with a glorious and honorable past history. Such country invented the word, "FREEDOM," through its actions.  Yes, the country is Haiti.  

BUCKLE YOUR SEAT BELTS, YOU ARE ABOUT TO LEARN HOW MANY COUNTRIES HAITI HAD EITHER HELPED OR LIBERATED FROM SLAVERY AND OCCUPATIONS.    HAITI HAD ALSO DONE SOMETHING THAT NO OTHER COUNTRY HAS BEEN ABLE TO DO.   THE HAITIAN SLAVES HAD FOUGHT THREE DIFFERENT OCCUPATIONS AT THE SAME TIME DURING A PERIOD OF 13 YEARS, (FROM 1791 THROUGH 1803).  

DID YOU KNOW THAT THE HAITIANS FOUGHT TOGETHER WITH THE UNITED STATES AGAINST THE BRITISH IN 1779? Congressional House Record Volume 154, Number 23, [Pages H834-H837]

Yes, in the Great Battle of Savannah 1779, the Haitians had voluntarily formed a military Unit of 800 men called, "LES CHASSEURS VOLONTAIRES," to travel to the US and joined the fight against the British. Within that unit, they were few volunteers from two other Caribbean countries as well, Guadeloupe and Martinique.  In one day, over 500 of them were killed pressing courageously towards the British soldiers.

"WE SHOULD ALWAYS REMEMBER THOSE WHO SACRIFICE THEIR OWN LIVES TO HELP US IN TIMES OF NEEDS."

 The Haitians are very brave and humble people.  However, they detest colonization, occupation, oppression, injustice, and persecution.  For that reason, the Haitians did not stop at just the United States. They had embarked on a mission to free many other nations such as;

"THE GRAND COLUMBIA WHICH IS DIVIDED TODAY INTO THREE COUNTRIES, VENEZUELA, COLOMBIA, AND ECUADOR. THESE THREE COUNTRIES HAVE A SIMILAR SECRET WHICH STEMED FROM HAITI; I WILL REVEAL IT LATER.   LASTLY,  THE HAITIANS DID NOT FORGET THEIR ROOTS;  THEIR USED CHANNELS SUCH AS UNITED NATIONS TO  ALSO HELP THE REPUBLIC OF CONGO."   

I promise i will elaborate on all of them in future blogs.

I hope this was a learning experience to all of us.  I intend to make it my mission to retrieve those hidden histories and spread throughout the world, the aroma of those gems; which are definitely crucial to our knowledge.  After all, they are hidden in our backyard.  Remember, as citizens of this world, it is our backyard.

 Many of us are familiar with July 5, 1810, known as the "Gran Columbia Independence Day."   However, Haiti's assistance was actually necessary for it to occur.  On February 19, 1806, Francisco De Miranda traveled to Haiti at Simon Bolivar's request, to seek assistance in freeing the Gran Columbia, a region of Central America.  There, he encountered General Magloire Amboise upon arriving at Jacmel, one of Haiti's Southeast cities, who introduced him to Emperor Jean-Jacques Dessalines.      Francisco De Miranda received weaponry from the Emperor after multiple meetings so that he might battle to free the Gran Columbia. "FREEDOM, THE APEX"

In May of 1803, with almost the whole country under the control of Jean-Jacques Dessalines, Henri Christophe, and Alexandre Petion,  the Haitians carried more ferocious attacks than ever before.  By August 1803, the French Army, after losing most of its soldiers, had become very weak. As of October 11, 1803, they had control over two cities only: Cap-Haitian and Mole St Nicolas.  At that point, Dessalines immediately established his headquarter in Gonaives in the Central Part of Haiti to plan their last attack towards freedom. On 13, October 1802,  Alexandre Petion, and Jean-Jacques Dessalines, united to ensure that freedom reigned on Haiti's soil.  In the meantime, the officers who were stationed at Archaie, a city located 20 miles from Port-Au-Prince,  had decided to create the first Haitian Flag, which was: Blue, Red, and White.  However, Dessalines had removed the White Color.  He had decided to use a flag with two colors: Blue and Red placed ...
